idle no more - get off your butt and get a job

Canada prime minister Harper supports "idle no more movement". Translated - get off the couch and get a job. Too many people have been abusing the generous welfare and unemployment system in Canada. First Nation people have to bring accountability to their band leaders. In many cases millions of dollars granted by the government have simply disappeared. Some Indian reservations have spent their money wisely. Others have invested in money making ventures. Eco-tourism is very popular and this opens many opportunities for land use. Wild-life and habitat preservation need large tracks of land. The government of Canada has established many parks with this in mind. It is time Canada resolves its 2 tier system of treating its First Nations and regular Canadian people differently. In the grand scheme of things we all come from the same gene pool. Since the beginning of civilization men have fought and conquered other races. Rarely are conquered lands and treasure given back. Whether it is right or wrong, is for every one to decide on their own. It is the way our species has evolved.

We should celebrate that we are advanced enough to record our own history and evolution on planet earth. Instead of fighting with each other we should be concentrating on the biggest threat to us all. An asteroid big enough to cause mass extinction  It has happened before. A reason to colonize another planet and beyond if we can. Kind of like "do not keep all your eggs in one basket". Small things amuse small minds. Lets all think about the big things and possibilities.

Cool simulation if a big asteroid comes our way. In 2013 a foot-ball field size asteroid zoomed by earth low enough to hit our satellites. NASA only spotted it 2 days in advance. It was not reported until the day after it went by to stop instant panic among the population.
